Austin BELL Camp Day 4

Today was the fourth day of BELL camp. In Blindness Lesson, Students got to participate in an activity explaining how blind individuals identify paper money. Demonstrations were: finding a folding method, using a trust worthy sighted reader, and some adaptive technologies. In Reading students practiced tracking skills with a fun lesson called follow the yellow Brick Road. In writing students got to practice typing a full 25 line page of Braille. In Extra Curricular students examined a tactile puzzle of the United States. Students also made neat things out of Plato in Nonvisual class.
The lunch was turkey and cheese sandwiches. For recess students had a fun time playing team-building games with Coach Green an AISD partner in the BELL Program. The reader for the day was Marc, a nice gentleman who works at the Social Security Office, and a Braille reader. The afternoon group activity was Simon Says with Mr. Max. Tomorrow’s tease is: Fun Filled Friday!
