Austin BELL Camp Day 8

Today was the eighth day of BELL Camp. In blindness lesson students learned about personal space. Students practiced saying excuse me when we run in to something or someone, and standing in a conversational distance from someone. In Reading students worked with Braille flash cards. In Writing students worked on their final writing assignments. In Nonvisual students made Cheerio treats in the microwave. In Extra curricular students helped with BELL recordings.
We had our final Journal time of the BELL camp. We had Turkey Sandwiches for lunch. For recess students enjoyed a violin concert from Mrs. Laura’s String Camp for Kids. For a group activity students got to meet a few large dogs who provide Pet Therapy. Our special reader for the day was Anne, a nice lady who is the state wide Braille Coordinator of Texas, and of course a Braille reader. Students ended the day with BELL Ringers. One student shared that she had a great time listening to our Braille Reader, and another was proud of their final Journal. Tomorrow’s tease is: We’ve got some celebrating to do!
