The Jim Omvig award recognizes a member of the Austin chapter of the National Federation of the Blind who has represented the spirit of the blind community here in Austin and has made an outstanding contribution to the local chapter. Jim Omvig has been a valuable part of the federation family. The 2011 National Convention celebrated Mr. Omvig’s 50th national convention. The winner of the 2011 Jim Omvig award is Travis Weede.
